Imagine being able to share something you’ve never said aloud before, and instead of being met with confusion or judgment, you feel fully understood.

Picture walking into a room heavy with worry, and walking out with a clearer head and a plan for what comes next. That’s the kind of experience I aim to create — one that empowers, heals, and restores hope.

Working together feels like stepping into a space where judgment is left at the door and your whole story is welcome. People often say it feels easy to talk here — like finally letting out a deep breath they didn’t know they were holding. Most days I’ll have a cup of coffee in hand, and you’re welcome to grab coffee, tea, or water from the waiting area before we begin.

The process is relaxed and casual, but always focused.

Sessions are grounded in scientifically validated, evidence-based interventions — the kind that actually make a difference. That means we’ll laugh sometimes, use humor to lighten heavy moments, and still dig deep into the places that matter most.

I can help by walking alongside you, offering new perspectives when you feel stuck, and teaching strategies that work in real life.

Sometimes this looks like untangling painful memories, sometimes it’s learning how to regulate emotions in the moment, and other times it’s exploring identity, purpose, or relationships.

I’m passionate about diversity, cultural immersion, theology, social justice, authenticity, and exploring the values that give life meaning. These passions shape how I show up in the counseling room — curious, compassionate, and committed to helping people uncover their own voice and values.

My qualifications don’t come only from degrees or certifications (though I have those too). They come from sitting with people across cultures, faiths, and life experiences, and from learning that healing often grows out of presence, respect, and courage to face what feels overwhelming. Whether we’re processing trauma, wrestling with grief, exploring identity, or just trying to breathe a little easier, I bring all of that lived experience into our work together.

MY OFFICE

When We Work Together

A session usually feels like a mix of conversation, reflection, and practice. You’ll find that you’re not just talking — you’re actively learning ways to cope, regulate, and grow. There may be moments of laughter, moments of silence, and moments that feel surprisingly freeing.

When I'm Not Working

A Little About Me

Counseling isn’t just what I do — it’s a calling shaped by a wide range of life experiences. I’ve worked in churches, hospitals, college campuses, cancer centers, and trauma centers, walking with people through some of life’s hardest and most meaningful moments. I’ve spent time volunteering in the Amazon jungle of Peru, living on a riverboat, and practicing stillness at a Buddhist monastery in Thailand. I’m also certified to teach English to speakers of other languages, an avid Dolly Parton fan, and admittedly a bit of a coffee snob.

I do this work because I’ve seen firsthand how transformative therapy can be. My own journey with a skilled therapist showed me the power of feeling truly heard, accepted, and challenged in the best way. It’s part of why I believe so deeply in the words of Carl Rogers:

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
