What are your hours?
We offer session times throughout the day during the week based on availability.
We currently do not see clients on weekends. Call us today to schedule your free 15-minute consultation or initial session.
How long are your sessions?
Do you take insurance?
How do I know which therapist is right for me?
Read through their bios to get a feel for them. Feel free to reach out to any of them individually for a free 15 minute consult. If you still aren’t sure where to start, give us a call and we can chat through who would be the right fit for you!
How do I set up an appointment?
What is your cancellation policy?
Clients should notify their therapist via email or phone of any cancellation or need to reschedule a minimum of 48 hours before their appointment time.
If you cancel within those 48 hours, you will be charged for your appointment.
How often should you come to therapy?
The more often you come, the faster you experience relief and improvement.
Every week and every other week are helpful for therapeutic momentum forward – clients who schedule less frequently may experience frustration with a lack of change.
When you begin to phase out of therapy, coming once every three-to-four weeks and less often from there is common.
Do you work with women, men, couples?
What do you actually do in sessions with clients?
The first few sessions involve getting to know you as the client and your therapist. Building a relationship is key in the beginning.
If you’re a couple, the first session starts with the couple, followed by an individual session for each person in the relationship, followed by subsequent couples sessions throughout treatment.
Following the initial phase, we move to the middle part of therapy, where we truly start to look at what is causing you pain and how we can address that in various ways.
Your therapist will work with you to tailor each session specifically on what you’re addressing and what works for you.
Do your clients receive assignments between sessions?
It all depends on what you’re addressing.
For couples sessions, there are generally no homework assignments as change happens within the sessions.
For premarital counseling, there is lots of homework with the workbook we will use.
For individual clients, some days, you might get homework, and other days, your session may be enough hard work until the next.
What else does a client need to know to make the most of working with you?
Come to therapy! Coming to therapy consistently will be important to make the changes you desire.
Often, clients feel frustration from the lack of change but come to therapy only once a month.
Consistent attendance can mean consistent change.
The owners are both therapists? So that means they never fight, right?
Conflict is a normal part of any relationship, and we’re human, too. And that means we also need our own therapy.
EMDR sounds weird; what is it?
Yes, it can be a bit weird, but honestly, it works!
EMDR utilizes bilateral stimulations (physical stimulations on the right and left sides of your body) to help your brain process trauma to desensitize yourself to emotional reactions.
It doesn’t change the events, but it changes how they affect your emotions and functioning.
We can use EMDR for trauma but also anxiety and depression issues. Your therapist can walk you through more about how an EMDR session works and supply you with material to help you learn more about the process. Visit https://www.emdria.org/ for more info!
Why do I have to talk about this stuff when it sucks to talk about it?
Not talking about it hasn’t really worked, has it?
We take the utmost care to make the process as safe and comfortable as possible. And yes, it does suck – sometimes.
Do I have to lie down on a couch while you ask how something makes me feel?
Please don’t – unless that’s what makes you comfortable.
The media tend to have an unrealistic and outdated portrayal of the process of therapy. It’s way more comfortable and relaxed than many people think.
But we can’t guarantee we won’t ask you about your feelings!
