The first few sessions involve getting to know you as the client and your therapist. Building a relationship is key in the beginning.
If you’re a couple, the first session starts with the couple, followed by an individual session for each person in the relationship, followed by subsequent couples sessions throughout treatment.
Following the initial phase, we move to the middle part of therapy, where we truly start to look at what is causing you pain and how we can address that in various ways.
Your therapist will work with you to tailor each session specifically on what you’re addressing and what works for you.
